Where I currently work is  along Kiambu road. The land that houses the building I work in used to be part of Karura forest.
Karura forest is pretty large,1014 hectares! It is one of the largest urban gazetted forests in the world.  The forest contains nearly all the 605 species of wildlife found in Nairobi including three types of antelope

(http://www.kenyaforestservice.org/aboutus/index.phpoption=com_content&view=article&id=146&Itemid=154).Sounds really impressive to me!
All around the climate is cool, breezy and it rains alot ,which means agriculture goes on around especially cultivation of tea.
What I enjoy most is the view from my office window. The trees, different shades of green and the flowers....and monkeys!!
Once in a while you see them on the window sill staring at you(can be totally spooky)that happens when they are bored from swinging from tree to tree.
Then there are birds, and just listening to them sing lightens dull days.
When the sun is just right it's nice to sit on a bench and just marvel at nature and watch the butterflies flutter past.Makes you feel inspired and is very calming
I get to see all this just being across the road from the forest! I can't wait to go on a hike there and take some pics to share. I've never been in the forest, just at a clearing where there are eateries:(In my defence I haven't been here long, just a little over a fortnight.
I hear there is a waterfall and I know its true cause I've seen pictures and there's a river that flows from the forest and along my office buildings' backyard:)

pics from my window.will take some more from outside:)
